Filament FAQ
Service descriptions: to be corrected by GREENPOLYMER. Settings: Typical values. Refer to the actual TDS.
Which filaments can GREENPOLYMER make?
PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU, PC, PA and fiber-reinforced materials, plus PVA, BVOH and breakaway support materials. PPS, PEEK and PEKK are planned. For all models, see the overview and the comparison table.
Which brands do you work with?
GREENPOLYMER works with leading manufacturers such as Bambu Lab. GREENPOLYMER PLA Wood is an officially recommended filament by Bambu Lab. Other partner brands are not disclosed without their consent.
How do I read a model code?
The format is GRN3D-material-descriptor. For example, GRN3D-PLA-M01 is PLA Matte; GRN3D-PA6-C20 is PA6 carbon fiber, where 20 means 20 % carbon fiber content (a common industry value, to be verified by GREENPOLYMER); GRN3D-TPU-F95 is a TPU with Shore hardness 95A.
Which printers are supported?
1.75 mm filament suits most desktop FDM printers. 2.85 mm is available on request. High-temperature materials need a printer that reaches the corresponding nozzle and bed temperatures, and fiber-reinforced materials need a hardened steel nozzle. See the printing and drying guide for details.
Can it be used with multi-color feeders?
Standard spools are designed to common industry dimensions. Feeders on different printers have different requirements for spool size, weight and material; follow the printer maker's instructions. OEM customers can have spools customized for their own equipment.
What is the diameter tolerance?
Diameter tolerance ±0.03 mm, ovality ≤0.03 mm (to be verified by GREENPOLYMER). Actual values are in each model's TDS.
How much does a spool weigh? How long is it?
Standard is 1 kg net; some models are 0.5 kg or 0.8 kg. Length depends on material density. For 1.75 mm PLA, 1 kg is about 330 m.
Does it need drying?
PA, PC, PET-CF, TPU, PVA and BVOH must be dried before printing. Other materials should be dried when damp. For conditions, see the drying guide. GREENPOLYMER filament ships vacuum-packed with desiccant.
What nozzle do carbon fiber materials need?
A hardened steel or similar wear-resistant nozzle, 0.4 mm or larger recommended. A hardened steel nozzle is also recommended for Glow-in-the-Dark PLA.
Can you do private label and customization?
Yes. GREENPOLYMER offers OEM private label and ODM custom development, with customizable formulation, color, diameter, net weight, spool, labels, packaging and RFID / NFC tags. OEM starts from 500 spools per SKU. See OEM/ODM.
Can you add RFID tags to spools?
Tags can be fitted and written to your tag specification, or the open standard OpenPrintTag can be used. Printer makers' proprietary tag systems can only be implemented after obtaining permission and the technical specification. See RFID / NFC tags on the OEM/ODM page.
Can you match our colors?
Yes. Provide RAL or Pantone numbers or a physical color plaque, and state your gloss and color difference requirements. Color matching is done at the Shenzhen Color Matching Center.
Can you provide samples?
Samples are available for standard models. Tell us your printer model, material and use. Sample quantity and cost are agreed per project.
Can you provide a TDS and SDS?
Yes. Models in regular supply come with a TDS and SDS, in Chinese and English. Email hello@greenpolymer.com stating the model and language.
How is quality assured?
Quality is controlled at four stages: raw materials, the production process, finished products and batch traceability. Every spool has a batch number. See Quality control.
What is your capacity?
6,000+ t capacity and 29,000+ m² total plant area. Both are company-wide figures that include engineering plastic pellets, not filament alone.
What if I have printing problems?
First see Troubleshooting. If that does not solve it, send the model, batch number, printer and settings, and photos of the problem to hello@greenpolymer.com.
